Meet Richard Ball
A Lifetime of Leadership
Richard Ball, a life-long Lovelander whose family has been part of the fabric of the community since 1889, will continue his family’s long Colorado tradition of serving his community as State Senator for District 15.
Working in Loveland and throughout Larimer County for nearly four decades as an attorney, small business owner, real estate broker, and currently as business development officer and Senior Vice-President for First Western Trust Bank, Rich has developed a deep understanding of the economic issues facing Northern Colorado, and knows what it takes to create jobs.
Rich has served on over a dozen local charities over the years, including Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, and the Loveland Downtown Development Authority. He has served as president of the Larimer County Bar Association (1978-79), Loveland Rotary Club (1981-82), United Way of Loveland/Berthoud/Estes Park (1988), and Loveland Habitat for Humanity (2001). Rich currently serves on the board of the Pathways Hospice of Larimer County.
Four Generations of Service
The values of service to the community are deeply instilled in Rich. As our state senator, his effective representation in our state legislature will continue generations of devotion to Larimer County.
Rich’s family came to Larimer County in 1889 and have been a key part of the community since their settlement; first as entrepreneurs owning the local general store, the millinery, the local paper, and also serving in the judicial and political realms. Judge Conrad L. Ball, Rich’s father, served as Larimer County District Court Judge for 20 years. Loveland’s Conrad Ball Middle School and the Larimer County Community Corrections Conrad Ball Award are named in his honor.
Proud Husband, Father and Grandfather
Rich has four grandchildren. He and LuAnn have brought up four children between them, and all are graduates of the Thompson School District system. They all now live in Loveland, with families of their own, and are carrying on the Ball family’s tradition of giving back to the community.
